The CCP Move updates

It’s official, we are now at our new home at Sunjive studios 3 Butler Dr Hendon 5014

It’s been a long and difficult road but we are finally all moved into our new location and things are really starting to take shape.

We managed to move the entire school out of Richmond road in just 3 days!! 3 very long days lol.

An unbelievable feat that absolutely could not have been done without the amazing support and hard work of our CCP staff and community volunteers. We thank-you with all of our hearts. It was hard to say goodbye to our Richmond Rd building after 15+ years at the location but the support from our community has shown us that we making the right decision to continue on at a new location and we look forward to seeing the school and our students thrive in our new home.

We will be holding a thank-you and welcome party on the Friday of the first week of term 29 July.

We hope to see all there to help us celebrate this momentous occasion and welcome this new chapter in the Centre for Creative Photography’s journey.

We’ve tried to document as much as we can whilst working non stop to get everything ready for the beginning of Term 3 Monday 24 July.

Please enjoy some images from of final days at the Richmond Rd venue. We will be adding photos from the new building as things progress. See if you can spot where each image is from.

The CCP is moving! To bigger and better things!

We have a new location that could not be more perfect for the CCP and we cannot wait for you to see it.

Our new home is located at the amazing SunJive studios located at 3 Butler Dr, Hendon.

These studios were previously used as the SA Film Corporation and many famous Australian films have been produced on their soundstages. Professional soundstages?? Yes, but that's a different story for another time.

I'm sure everyone is aware of the current rental crisis and we’ve recently been dealt a pretty hefty blow. This combined with the upcoming South Rd roadworks would make it impossible for us to continue to operate as we currently do without having to pass on considerable fee increases to our students. So in order to keep our doors open and to avoid inconveniencing our students and staff we are taking this as an opportunity to move to bigger and better things for our community to continue to thrive.

In order to be able to continue with in-person study for Term 3 and 4 in such a short timeframe,  we have had to make a couple of sacrifices, unfortunately we will not have a Darkroom available for Term 3. However, this is an ongoing process and we will be tirelessly working behind the scenes during Terms 3 & 4 to bring you a better-than-ever version of the CCP.

When is all of this happening?? We will start moving at the end of June and continue during the Term 2-3 break, with the plan being to proceed with the Term 3 schedule, sadly without the darkroom, at the new venue. If you are currently enrolled in a darkroom subject for Term 3 we will be in touch shortly to discuss options with you.

We urge all students to enrol as soon as you can, even if it's just using the $100 deposit option.

  • This will help us to know what enrolments are looking like and this will help our planning more than ever before. Also there may be short periods of time during the term break when we cannot take enrolments as we transfer communication and network facilities.

Obviously this will be a massive undertaking in such a short amount of time. If you wish to help in ANY way please speak to your lecturer or a member of the admin team, any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

This is a giant step for us and as much as we have loved our current location, we recognise when it is time to move on for the benefit of our community.

We greatly appreciate your patience and support during this time. Our community means everything to us and we look forward to seeing it grow.

We will be filming and posting regular progress updates here and on our social media platforms as we go to keep you in the loop.
