Lab Art Prize VENICE’23 Edition

Malamegi Lab Art Prize, is a call for submissions open to all kind of artists. Works allowed in the art competition are: drawings, paintings, sculptures, photographs, graphics, mix media and video. A great opportunity for the artists, which can win a cash prize, have the opportunity to exhibit their artworks, and much more.

PRIZES: 5000,00€ – artwork acquisition award – cash prize – monographic book prize

The following types of works are admitted: Painting, Sculpture, Photography, Mixed media, Digital, Video, Graphics, Net art, other (all visual works that can be reproduced through a picture are allowed).

The contest is addressed to professional and amateur artists, graphic designers, painters, photographers, etc. from all over the world.

to whom it is addressed

The competition is open to all artists, graphic artists, designers, painters, photographers, etc., professionals and non-professionals, from any country in the world.

 

purpose

The aim of the competition is to promote the registered artists, giving them the possibility of concretely becoming part of the art and decoration market. The artists are free to personally interpret the competition through their own sensitivity. The theme is free.

 

awards

The competition provides for the selection of 12 finalist artists.

 

WORK ACQUISITION AWARD

Malamegi Lab will purchase one of the 12 finalist works. The work will become part of the private collection of Malamegi Lab.  The prize has a maximum purchase value of €2000.00. Works not for sale or with a price higher than the acquisition prize will not participate in this prize. These works will still be able to win one of the other prizes.

COLLECTIVE EXHIBITION

12 artists will be selected for the final exhibition of the competition. The inauguration of the exhibition will be accompanied by the general catalogue, distributed throughout the exhibition period. The invitations to the vernissage will be distributed to the artists, curators, critics, journalists and media of the host city.

CASH PRIZE

At the end of the collective exhibition, a cash prize of €1,000.00 will be awarded to one of  the 12 selected artists. The prize is awarded on the basis of the quality and originality of the exhibited work. The awarded work will remain the property of the artist. The award is a contribution to the development of the artist's artistic and aesthetic research.

MONOGRAPHIC CATALOGUE

A monographic book will be dedicated to one of the finalist artists. The monograph will be edited by Malamegi Lab with the contribution of the curators of the final exhibition. The book will be edited, developed, printed and distributed at the expense of Malamegi Lab. Other  copies for the artist's personal use will be added to the distributed copies. The monograph will be printed in approximately 100 copies of which 20 will be left to the artist. The monographs will be distributed by Malamegi in favor of its best customers and collectors.
