Weekly Inspiration - Amanda Mustard, Documentary Photography

We are absolutely in love with Amanda Mustard's work, whose portfolio is a collection of empathetic documentary photos that reflect her experiences of living in Cairo at the age of 21 during times of conflict and now living in Thailand.

“I started shooting in Egypt at the height of political uprisings, but found myself over time getting frustrated at the stereotypical shots that you know were the ones that would sell. I think I can sum up that thought by pointing to Newsweek’s infamous ‘Muslim Rage’ cover. Many days the story I would see on the ground would be portrayed very differently in the news." Mustard said during a fantastic interview with Feature Shoot.
