Term 3 2022 VET Student Gallery
We were blown away this term by the quality of work from our VET in High School students, so much creativity and talent. They're always great but this time the work is exceptional and we think you'll agree.
Come back soon as more images will posted as work is submitted.

Lights, camera, action. The historic and modern city buildings of the working day to some, the glitz and glamour of the night life to others. Streetlights, moving cars and people everywhere.
From the brickwork of the Mc Ewin Building, which had me go into a trance, of all the particular detailing of the brick layout, to taking a photo on my camera and having that wow moment editing them in black and white.
Moments of being drawn to a building with its formalism design. Angling my camera to capture certain angles of the buildings and zooming in on certain windows, doors and lights, with the thought of editing my shots in a specific way.
Blurry visions of people driving and walking infront of the buildings was created using slow shutter speed. Street lights highlighted and differed the colours and light reflection of the building texture including concreted stones. This can be seen in one of my photos.
The photos of the buildings, came out to my expectations, as they were the perfect backdrop, with the task of adding contrast to make the photos pop. Throughout my series, I discovered formalism combined with contrast editing, totally changed the dimension of a good photo, to a mind blowing capture.

All of the photos in this series were taken using a printer. The photos were printed in black and white and rescanned into a pdf and then converted into photos
I trialed taking photos in both color and black and white but liked the effect of the black and white more. Photos taken in color did not have the same effect and the colors slightly merged.

The Adelaide City and Central Market. A place for people to come together, socialise or just do their own individual thing. These places may seem boring but if looked at from a different perspective they give off a range of vibrance and beauty. From all the different people to food and architecture. Each of the photographs I call capturing the ‘perfect’ moment. All of these people in the images either moved or looked in a certain way that made me see something, something beautiful or different and worth capturing. I like having the unknown of the images, the people in them maybe never getting to see these pictures and maybe if they did they wouldn’t see the beauty in it that I do, the beauty of what they don’t see. They might not look significant to the eye but all have their own stories. I saw all of these opportunities and took them being able to capture their facial expressions, their movements, how they carried themselves, giving themselves their own story, all different and unique in their own ways.
